The town's main square is the hub of activity, especially in the evenings when locals and visitors gather to enjoy the warm Mediterranean nights. Gaios has an excellent selection of restaurants serving fresh seafood, and its small streets are lined with boutiques, bakeries and artisan shops worth exploring on foot.
From Gaios harbour you can book boat trips to the dramatic sea caves on Paxos's west coast, or take the short crossing to Antipaxos for a day at Voutoumi Beach. The island bus service also departs from here, connecting to Loggos and Lakka up to seven times daily in summer.
