Water taxis and day-trip boats depart from Gaios harbour roughly every 20–30 minutes during summer, with the crossing taking around 10–15 minutes. The round-trip fare is approximately €20 per person. Book early in the day as boats fill up quickly in peak season. The journey passes dramatic sea cliffs and caves on the west coast of Paxos — an experience in itself.
Voutoumi is ideal for snorkelling — the visibility is exceptional. Arrive before 11 am to secure a spot and avoid the midday crowds. Two tavernas serve grilled fish and Greek salad near the beach. Bring reef shoes for the pebble shore, sun protection, and a waterproof bag for your phone.
